KEF Powers LA Movie Premiere

On September 17, 2024, KEF was proud to partner with Gagosian Gallery Beverly Hills and filmmaker Titus Kaphar for the Los Angeles premiere of the evocative film, Exhibiting Forgiveness. The film, starring Andre Holland, Andra Day and John Earl Jenks, makes a powerful statement about ending the generational cycle of trauma and neglect through the power of forgiveness.

KEF supplied gear and designed the surround sound system that reproduced the powerful and moving soundtrack for the one hundred seat theater that was built inside the Beverly Hills Gagosian gallery specifically for the premiere.

A pair of Racing Red Blade Meta provided the left and right front channels. Each Blade was supported by a Hegel H30A monoblock amplifier and a KC92 triple-stack, using KEF’s new stacking kit. The center channel was provided by a Ci5160REFM-THX was mounted above the screen. The center channel was also driven by a Hegel H30A monoblock amplifier.

The surround channels were powered by six pair of LS50 Wireless II speakers, divided into six speakers per side. The LS50 Wireless II were mounted above the seating area and provided full coverage and amazing clarity to every seat in the theater.

To help the audience feel the power of the soundtrack even more, eight Kube 15MIE subwoofers were mounted under the seat riser, providing 2400 Watts of clean powerful bass.

In the gallery adjacent to the theater Kaphar exhibited some of the exquisite artwork that helped inspire the movie. Two pair of LS60 Wireless (right) helped set the mood of the evening by filling the gallery with a playlist compiled by Kaphar especially for the exhibit and film premiere.

KEF was honored to take part in the premiere of this powerful film, and we are proud that our products were able to help translate the film’s score and soundtrack in a way that equaled the film’s emotional impact.
