Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™)
The crucial advancement in the Q Series is the integration of Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™). MAT is a highly complex maze-like structure that absorbs 99% of the unwanted noise from the rear of the driver, eliminating the resulting distortion and providing a purer, more natural sound.
Uni-Q®
A 12thgeneration Uni-Q®driver array with MAT™ is found in all eight models of the Q Series. Uni-Q®acts as a single point source to disperse sound more evenly through the room, allowing everybody, wherever they are in the room, to enjoy the same natural, detailed sound for an immersive entertainment experience.

Every speaker in The Reference range exudes the sense of sheer quality that comes from being hand-built by KEF’s master craftsmen in Maidstone, Kent, UK. They are designed to be acoustically exceptional, attractive to look at, and each speaker is meticulously built to KEF’s exceptional standards.
3-way speaker
The evolved Q Series has been upgraded from a 2.5-way to a 3-way system design which ensures precise separation of high, mid, and low frequencies. This updated configuration significantly improves detail and clarity, bringing your music and movies to life.*

Deep and clean bass
The Q Series features a hybrid bass driver design that provides stiffness to achieve a piston-like movement for better bass punch and speed. Combined with a port modelled using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), this results in precise and agile bass management even at high output levels. *

Refined crossover
A critical component of the Q series is the refined crossover, which ensures seamless integration of all speaker parts. More than 1,000 specific measurements are taken for each speaker model, allowing precise signal path and optimisation for best possible performance.
Shadow flare
Derived from the flagship models, Shadow Flare is a carefully profiled transition that extends the waveguide effect of Uni-Q. This design reduces unwanted cabinet diffraction, allowing the treble to escape naturally without reaching the cabinet edges. The result is vastly improved fine detail reproduction.*

Detail by Design
The Q Series speakers feature a contemporary minimalist design with a satin finish that offers a premium, subtle glow. Available in Satin Black, Satin White, and Walnut finishes, they are designed to blend effortlessly into any interior.
Magnetic Grilles
Colour-matched grilles are included with the speakers. The magnetic fixing provides a secure and precise fit, in keeping with the clean and seamless styling of the Q Series.
Speaker Setup Versatility
This home theatre system combines multiple speakers from the Q Series to form the ultimate home theatre system. The system could consist of Q11 Meta floorstanding speakers at the front, a Q6 Meta centre channel, Q Concerto Meta as rear speakers and Q4 on-wall speakers for surround sound. A Kube 15 MIE subwoofer delivers extra depth whilst 4 Dolby Atmos-enabled Q8 Meta speakers create a staggeringly realistic and multi-dimensional soundstage that wraps around you.
In rooms where placing a pair of rear speakers is difficult, this five channel layout might be more suitable. A 5.1.2 setup could contain Q7 Meta floorstanding speakers, a Q6 Meta centre channel and on-wall Q4 Meta speakers on the sides for surround sound. A Kube 12 MIE subwoofer adds extra depth whilst 2 Dolby Atmos-enabled Q8 Meta speakers deliver truly immersive surround sound.
Smaller rooms with more compact TVs might prefer to follow this 3.1 home theatre example, consisting of sleek on-wall Q4 Meta speakers, a Q6 Meta centre channel and a Kube 8 MIE subwoofer. This affordable system doesn't take up much floor space and is still fantastic for music and movies.
