On March 24, Woodbridge Stereo in Woodbridge, NJ, hosted KEF’s inaugural ConcertoTour event. ConcertoTour 2025 celebrates the new KEF Q Concerto bookshelf model and that classic time in music history when the music was the event.
A throwback to the original audiophile-quality three-way bookshelf loudspeaker which KEF first released in 1969, the Concerto‘s classic lines and elevated performance easily evokes an era when listening to music was a social event with deep meaning to everyone involved.
Legendary producer and recording engineer Ken Scott enthralled the standing room only crowd with his deep and fascinating history working with such famous artists as the Beatles, Elton John, David Bowie and scores of other important musical artists. If you’ve listened to music recorded any time in the past fifty-plus years, you’ve doubtless heard a track that Ken was involved in. Ken took the audience behind the scenes into the Control Rooms of some of the world’s most famous studios and shared the backstory behind dozens of classic hits the way only a legend who is a foundational part of the story of popular music can do.
Some of the artists Ken has produced or engineered: Beatles, George Harrison, David Bowie, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Jeff Beck Group, Procol Harum, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Billy Cobham, Stanley Clarke, Supertramp, Missing Persons, Devo, The Tubes, Dixie Dregs, Level 42, Kansas, Duran Duran.
Be on the lookout for a ConcertoTour event coming in 2025 to a city near you! In the meantime, check out Concerto and the rest of the new Q Meta series at your favorite audio retailer.
